Got Questions?

Frequently Asked

Everything you need to know about our entertainment services

Do you use buzzers or pens and paper?
We rely on traditional pens and paper, and we plan to continue with this approach for the foreseeable future. Buzzers tend to break and disrupt the team dynamic. Using pens and paper encourages discussion and friendly banter, which is what keeps people coming back week after week. Buzzers also restrict the types of trivia questions that can be asked, often limiting the format to multiple-choice questions. For these reasons, we stick with pens and paper.
Do you offer themed trivia shows?
We occasionally introduce a seasonal theme to our trivia nights, such as Christmas or Halloween, while still keeping the core format general knowledge. Fully themed trivia nights (such as Disney, Marvel or Star Wars) require a large amount of work to design and deliver a high-quality, bespoke show. This makes the cost significantly higher. In addition, these themes usually require official licensing. Without proper licensing, venues and operators can be infringing copyright law, which is a risk we prefer to avoid. Furthermore, one-off themed nights require a substantial marketing push from the venue. This increases the workload and cost for the venue, while often producing a relatively low return on investment. For these reasons, we generally recommend sticking with regular general knowledge trivia.
Can we run a fortnightly or monthly trivia show?
No. Many venues have attempted fortnightly or monthly trivia shows, but they rarely work in the long term. Weekly trivia builds routine and keeps customers coming back regularly. Less frequent shows require constant promotion and tend to result in inconsistent attendance.
What prizes are provided?
Each venue provides its own prizes. These are typically venue vouchers, a case of beer, or other products and merchandise. Our trivia shows are about fun and bragging rights rather than large prizes, and definitely not cash prizes. Typically, venues provide prizes for first, second and third place. Some venues also offer a prize for last place or second-last place, as well as four spot prizes during the games played throughout the show.
Do you sell just the trivia show?
Yes. For regional venues, we can sell the trivia content and provide host training for a fee if you already have your own host.
Who handles marketing, promotion and advertising?
The venue does. We are a trivia company. Our focus is on creating unique, engaging and memorable trivia experiences. We are not a marketing or advertising agency. Booking a trivia show is not the end of the process — it is when the real work begins. Promotion is essential. Venues need to be active and have a clear strategy for social media. Trivia should be listed on your website and included in your online booking system on the designated night. All in-venue promotion should also be updated. This includes advertising screens inside and outside the venue, posters on walls and in bathrooms, materials on tables and bar areas, as well as flyers and table talkers. In addition, the venue should arrange or pay for someone to take photos and videos of customers playing, enjoying and winning trivia. This content should then be used regularly across your promotional and advertising campaigns. We will provide Brain Power Trivia marketing assets that your marketing team can adapt, edit and incorporate into your promotional materials.
